I played my first show in a year for the Speak Volumes launch party. It was a great time, I’m looking forward to performing more.
we should never put idols/inspirations on pedestals because doing so distances you from achieving/accomplishing what they do.
I think birthdays are good days for reflection. It’s interesting to think how things change over time, surroundings, interests, tastes, people.
A year ago I released an EP on my birthday. At the time I had no idea what I was doing (I still don’t), and it was a real opening experience. It’s poorly recorded, sonically scattered, and at this point there are only two-ish songs that I think have stood the test of a year. It was about finding a sound. I can listen and appreciate what it is, but recognizing the faults is probably a greater feeling. Recognizing where it is that I can improve my approach.
This one is Marketplace Danceoff. My talented friend Austin Cesear recently included it on a mix he did for Concepto Radio. It’s really cool to be included in a mix with musicians that I find really inspiring.
Cheers to another year

Last month I helped my friend Melinda with a project for her Performance art class. We originally performed this in front of a packed art gallery as her final performance, though the audio/video turned out to be not so great.
Last week we did it again. This is the final product. All visuals/robotics by Melinda Siomiak, all audio by me. My stuff is a mix of two songs that I am currently working on.
This was really cool to be apart of. Definitely inspiring in regards to bringing in other elements to music to enhance meaning and significance. I’m currently working on a project similar to this for my class Embodying the Score, and am really enjoying it.
